FIELD: nuclear power production. SUBSTANCE: method is done in assembly chamber and involves mounting destroyed units of heat elements in sampler tube, removing destroyed heat element, mounting fake heat element instead of it and subsequent fixation. Destroyed heat element before its removal from unit is turned along its longitudinal axis and pulled out of load-bearing grid. When fake heat element is mounted, it is preliminary moved with respect to immovable unit and then unit is rotated with respect to immovable fake heat element. Assembly chamber has set of separable equipment which is mounted in cut lathe of assembly chamber. Jacket of sampler has centering sleeve. Tube of sampler has longitudinal recesses.
