FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of ion-exchange catalysts that can be used in processes catalyzed by cation exchangers. Method for producing ion-exchange catalysts is carried out by extruding a powder mixture at the optimum point of melting a molding polymer consisting of a sulfonated styrene copolymer and divinylbenzene macroporous structure, taken in an amount of 5–89 wt%, sulfonated styrene copolymer and divinylbenzene gel structure taken in an amount of 5–89 wt%, and thermoplastic binders – polypropylene in an amount of 5–50 wt% and low density polyethylene in an amount of 1–5 wt%.
EFFECT: method provides obtaining a catalyst in the form of pellets having the shape of a cylindrical ring that have a sufficient total static exchange capacity and catalytic activity in dehydration of tert-butyl alcohol.
