FIELD: machines or engines in general.
SUBSTANCE: compressor assembly of a turbomachine includes an air intake duct, an air compression stage comprising a movable compressor impeller and a prewhirl grid located upstream of the movable compressor impeller to control the air speed in the airflow at the input of the movable impeller and comprising a plurality of adjustable blades. Pitch between two successive blades of the grid exceeds a chord of one of the two blades at a given height of the intake duct in its upper part. Prewhirl angle of the airflow by the blades is between 80° and 90° in the upper part of the air intake duct, when the prewhirl grid is in the closed operating position at low speed of the compression stage. Another invention of the group relates to a turbomachine comprising said compressor assembly. When controlling the prewhirl grid of the compressor assembly at low operating speeds, the compression stages of the grid blade are set correspondingly to the prewhirl angle of the airflow between 80° and 90°.
EFFECT: group of inventions allows to increase the efficiency of the compressor assembly at low speeds of the compression stage.
