FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in the method of investigating the acoustic characteristics of objects in a muffled chamber, which consists in placing a test object on a floating floor in a muffled chamber, in which the sound from the object under test is absorbed onto the walls. The muffled chamber is placed in a separate building with the foundation, walls, a ceiling, within which, on a stand-alone foundation, its walls, a floating floor, on which the test object is installed, and a light ceiling are placed, the muffled chamber is hermetically coated from all sides by the newly developed sound absorbing element to be tested. The sound power level of the test object is determined by the results of measurements of the average sound pressure level at measuring its surface, which is a hemisphere area, and then the corrected sound power level is defined.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of measuring the efficiency of noise attenuation of the acoustic characteristics of the new sound-absorbing elements.
