SUBSTANCE: electrical power system of an offshore drilling platform comprises diesel engines and synchronous generators, a main switchboard, autonomous voltage inverters, AC electric drives of the drilling pump, rotary table and pulling-and-running mechanism, measuring blocks, common active rectifier, water heater of the desalination plant, regulator of the capacity of the water heater of the desalination plant, connected in a certain way.

EFFECT: operational characteristics of the system are improved, namely: increased power factor, reduced nonlinear distortions, maintenance of a continuous operation mode of diesel generators.
