FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: to be used in electrical engineering. Device for detecting interphase short circuits and interturn faults in phases for three-phase high-voltage electrical installations consists of three conductors of a coaxial type, representing a current-conducting core and an external conductor separated by a dielectric located at the same distance from the magnetic field sensor, in this case, the input cables of the electrical installation are connected to the current-conducting core of the coaxial type conductors, and the return cables from the electrical installation are connected to the external conductor. In the space between the current-conducting core and the outer conductor of each coaxial type conductor, magnetic sensitive elements are mounted, and the magnetic field detected by the magnetic sensor with a value other than zero is a phase-to-phase short-circuit indicator, and a violation of the equality of the currents measured by magnetic sensitive elements indicates the interturn fault in the phases of the electrical installation.
EFFECT: expansion of functionality through the implementation of transverse differential protection, which allows to determine the interturn faults in phases.
