FIELD: instrument engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of heat-strengthened pellets for various purposes. Proposed is a device that contains a moving grate with a three-section drying zone, heating zones, roasting and recuperation zones and a four-section pellet cooling zone, loading and unloading units, central and lateral overflow manifolds, discharge and supply pipelines, collector manifold and burners for burning fuel. First section of the cooling zone in the course of the pellet movement is connected to the unheated zone of heating by the central collector, made with two-way lowering nozzles, in each of which are located forechamber. Second cooling section is connected by two lateral flow collectors with dip legs equipped with forechambers with burners of the firing zone. Third cooling section is connected to the third section of the drying zone. Wherein the ratio of the areas of the first cooling section and the recuperation zone is 1.4 - 2.0, and the ratio of the areas of the firing zone and the second section of the cooling zone is 1.35 - 1.60. In the process for producing pellets, the airflow ratio of the first and the second section of the cooling zone, reduced to normal conditions, is 1.15 - 1.25.

EFFECT: invention provides for intensification of heat exchange processes, a reduction in the specific consumption of energy carriers.
