FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and can be used in electrical networks with asymmetrical phase capacitance values. Method for compensating for single-phase short-circuit current consists in that the phases of the mains are grounded through reactors and capacitors connected together. Parameters of the elements are chosen from the condition of resonance tuning of the total resistance of the reactor and the capacitor with the phase capacitance of the electric network. It is possible to ground each phase through series-connected reactor and capacitor, or to connect to the mains reactors in a star-like fashion with a neutral, grounded through the capacitor.
EFFECT: higher safety due to reduction of single-phase short-circuit currents and currents in a zero-sequence circuit in a normal mode, higher reliability of the power grid by reducing maximum values of arc over-voltages in conditions of asymmetry of the phase capacitances of the power grid.
