SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically means for forming an electrical connection between a medical device and an electrode for attachment to a human body. Adapter for forming an electrical connection between a medical device, comprising a first type connector, and an electrode having a second type of connector, comprises a first connecting part shaped to cooperate with a corresponding connecting part on one of the medical device and the electrode, so as to form a mechanical and electrical connection therebetween, and a second connecting part comprising a portion of magnetic or ferromagnetic material arranged to be magnetically attracted to a corresponding magnet or portion of ferromagnetic material comprised in a magnetic connector part on the other of the medical device and the electrode, so as to form a magnetic and electrical connection therebetween, wherein the first connecting part is electrically connected to the second connecting part. Electrode assembly comprises an electrode. Connector assembly for forming an electrical connection between the medical device and the electrode comprises an adapter, a medical device comprising one of i) a magnetic connector part arranged to be magnetically attracted to part of the magnetic or ferromagnetic material in second connecting part (44) of the adapter, or ii) part of the mechanical connector formed to interact with the first connecting part of the adapter, and an electrode comprising, respectively, the other of i) part of the mechanical connector formed to interact with the first connecting part or the adapter, or ii) part of the magnetic connector, arranged to be magnetically attracted to part of the magnetic or ferromagnetic material in the second connecting part of the adapter.
