FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to turbine construction, in particular to radial turbines, and can be used in mechanical vehicles and in installations for generating mechanical and electrical energy. Invention relates to a method for operating a radial turbine, which is carried out using the claimed radial turbine, based on the principle of converting the kinetic energy of the intake jet into mechanical work, with repeated use of the intake jet. Intake jet of the working fluid is fed to the blades of the impeller, made concave in the form of a semicircle, due to this, the intake jet is deployed in the blade of the impeller and comes out at an angle ≈180° with respect to the entrance angle. It enters the concave surface of the blade of the nozzle apparatus, which, in the form of a semicircle, unfolds it onto the ≈180° relative to the entrance angle and the unfolded jet enters the next blade of the impeller. In the case where the nozzle apparatus has at least one group of blades with a nozzle, the process is repeated until the jet passes all the blades (2.1) of the nozzle unit from the group. In a specific case, the intake jet of the working fluid can be fed to the impeller blades at an angle in the range of 10–45° to the tangent plane to the cylindrical surface of the impeller.
EFFECT: method and design of the radial turbine are developed which makes it possible to obtain effective rotational motion on the shaft, including with an insignificant effect of the reaction force of the intake jet of the working fluid; allows to reduce the output losses and increase the efficiency.
