FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: steam turbine rotor relates to the field of mechanical engineering and can be used for converting steam energy into mechanical work. The rotor comprises a holder, installed in the centre whereof is a sleeve provided with at least one through hole on the side surface. At least one spiral vane is fixed on the holder, and one end of the vane is secured on the side surface of the sleeve. The vane made of two hermetically connected longitudinal spiral-shaped parts has an internal working space made along the entire length thereof, wherein the through hole of the sleeve is located opposite the working space of the vane. One of the two parts of the vane or both parts have a groove made along the entire length. A splitter is installed in the internal space of the sleeve. On the side opposing the holder, the sleeve has a cover with a through hole.
EFFECT: creation of a structure of a steam turbine rotor with spiral-shaped vanes made of two hermetically connected longitudinal spiral-shaped parts, wherein one or both of said parts are made with a groove along the entire length, forming an internal working volume wherein, at the moment of steam flow supply, the volume expands, thereby increasing the value of the driving force applied to the vane and eliminating the losses of steam energy for pushing stagnant steam and overcoming eddy currents, allows for a quick start of the rotor to the rated rotation speed.
