SUBSTANCE: invention relates to magnetic bearing (1) enclosed in a casing and intended for a rotary installation comprising rotor (4). Magnetic bearing (1) contains stator magnetic circuit (5) attached to fixed support component (2), stator magnetic circuit (5) comprising at least one winding (6) and a ferromagnetic body (7) located in a metal protective guard. Said protective guard comprises annular support (8) and annular jacket (13), besides annular support (8) and annular jacket (13) being welded together. Annular jacket (13) comprises a magnetic material and is coated with protective layer (17).
EFFECT: technical result is the creation of a cheaper magnetic bearing having a higher bearing capacity.
