SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an ionomer, comprising a reaction product of A reaction between (a) a halogenated isoolefin copolymer and (b) a nucleophile, having at least one neutral nitrogen or phosphorus centre and no pendant vinyl groups and a second nucleophile, having at least one neutral nitrogen or phosphorus centre, comprising at least one pendant vinyl group, wherein the ratio of the first nucleophile to the second nucleophile ranges from 4: 1 to 100: 1. Also described is a process for the preparation of an ionomer and a product obtained via said process.
EFFECT: technical result is providing an ionomer with improved dynamic and physical properties.
