FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: proposed roll is made of steel containing wt %: from more than 0.25 to 0.40; 0.10-0.70 Si; 0.65-1.80 Mn; 0.35-1.20 Cr; 2.50-3.50 Ni; 0.15-0.70 Mo; 0.001- 0.10 V; 0.005-0.10 Al; from 0.001 to 0.008 (N); 0.001-0.030 Nb; from 0.001 to 0.005 Ti; 0.01-0.30 Cu; not more than 0.008 S; no more 0.015 P; 0.001 -0.005 B, the rest is Fe, while the ratio of Mo2(Ti+V) is in range from 1/500 to 1/200. The steel billets are heated to the hot deformation temperature, rolled and quenched in the temperature range 800-1000°C. After quenching, tempering in the temperature range 150-300°C is carried out, if necessary.
EFFECT: high strength properties and hardness, while maintaining ductility and impact toughness.
