FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the treatment of metals by pressure and can be used in making a grid of diamond-shaped grid of grooves on the inner surface of a cylindrical shell. Forming is carried out in two operations. In the first operation, a tool rod with a working mandrel is inserted into the cavity of the sheath. Produce their longitudinal displacement with the introduction of spiral protrusions mandrel into the surface of the shell. In this case, the tool bar and the working mandrel rotate about the axis under the force of shaping. On the inner surface of the shell, spiral grooves are formed. Before the second operation, the working mandrel is reset on the tool bar to the opposite angle of lifting of the spiral of projections by turning it over an angle of 180°. In the second operation, the tool bar is reinstalled into the shell cavity with the reinforced working mandrel and their longitudinal movement. On the surface of the shell, spiral grooves with an opposite elevation angle are formed, forming with the spiral grooves obtained in the first operation a diamond-shaped grid of grooves.

EFFECT: as a result, it is possible to obtain a grid of grooves on the surface of shells of various sizes.
