FIELD: working of metal.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of metals by pressure, namely, to manufacture of shell-type parts with corrugations on the outer surface thereof. The apparatus for producing corrugations on the outer surface of a cylindrical shell comprises a lower plate, pushers, a hollow working mandrel with a longitudinal cut. The upper part of the apparatus therein has an upper plate, secured whereon are racks, the length whereof is not less than the height of the working part of the punch, with a matrix installed thereon. Installed on the lower plate are a punch, pushers, a cover, a hollow working mandrel with a flange, provided on the inner surface whereof are protrusions for applying corrugations of the desired shape. The apparatus allows for production of corrugations of any shape on the outer surface of the cylindrical shell along the entire perimeter thereof without loss in the stability of the cylindrical shell.

EFFECT: expanded technological capabilities due to the possibility of applying corrugations of any shape on the outer surface of the cylindrical shell.
