FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to a method and apparatus for determining the coordinates of an aircraft when landing on an aircraft carrier. When the plane is landing, three laser beams scan several bands of reflectors oriented relative to the runway, receive reflected signals, calculate the coordinates of the aircraft by processing the received signals in a certain way. Device for determining the coordinates contains a laser – signal conditioner, point light markers, a three-channel receiving and processing unit, a video camera, three scanning units located in a certain way on the plane. Each scanning unit contains an emitter that generates a laser beam, an electric motor with a mirror fixed to the output shaft, a reference and signal photodetectors, an electronic unit.
EFFECT: it is ensured an increase in the accuracy of determining the coordinates of the aircraft and the safety of its landing.
