FIELD: aircraft landing systems; small-scale aviation; landing of aircraft on poorly prepared runways or interim areas under adverse weather conditions at any time of day. SUBSTANCE: system comprises ground equipment with main and additional point markers made in the form of incandescent lamps provided along side edges of runway. Main markers are provided with corner reflectors and on-board equipment including millimeter-range radars, position indicator and computer connected in series; output of computer is connected with aircraft automatic control system. Position indicator is made on base of indicator gyroscope with inner gimbal mount with optical system mounted on its frame. Optical system is sensitive to light, thermal and microwave radiation. Light and thermal radiation receivers and radar antenna feed are mounted in focal plane of optical system and their outputs are connected to computer. EFFECT: continuous automatic control of aircraft at all stages of landing due to enhanced accuracy of determination of air position of aircraft relative to runway. 8 cl, 7 dwg
