FIELD: radar and radio navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for masking objects and can be used to simulate in the radar wavelength range and to protect against external monitoring and precision weapons. This method of simulating an object is achieved by performing a certain sequence of actions on the protected object as follows. Type of the protected object, type of the radar station, the required protection level of the protected object, the number of false objects, the characteristics of the underlying surface are set, the size of projections of the overall dimensions of the protected object taking into account the degree of conversion of the object height into its length or width, the required number of radar reflectors to simulate one object, the radar cross-section of the Earth's surface area are calculated, the radar cross-section of the protected object is estimated, the radar cross-section of a single radar reflector, the size of a single radar reflector are calculated, the sizes and the angle of inclination of the side sheets of the mold are adjusted to produce blanks for radar reflectors basing on the calculation of the dimensions of a single radar reflector and its orientation to the direction of the radar monitoring, soil is loaded into the bunker of the vehicle, the soil is grinded and the estimated number of blanks for the radar reflectors is formed from the improvised material, groups of blanks are placed under the radar reflectors, one side of each blank is coated with an electrically conductive reflective material, the electrically conductive reflective material is fixed onto the blanks.
EFFECT: technical result of the proposed method of simulating objects in radar monitoring is aimed at providing the required level of protection for specified objects by using improvised materials regardless of the type of the underlying surface and the ambient temperature.
