SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of computer systems for home and office. Element of furniture intended for furnishing and/or for maintenance comprises a container defining a cavity, one of the walls of the container is movable relative to the rest of the container in order to enable the container to be opened and closed with respect to the exterior space, and a multimedia system comprising a monitor built into at least one of the walls of the container. Monitor is connected to a microcomputer and is configured to provide a variety of services implemented by technical means using a flat screen with a size of at least 10 inches. Monitor is sealed against the external space and contains a glass sheet to protect the screen and the device that implements the sensor functionality of the screen.
