FIELD: vehicles.

SUBSTANCE: rotary actuator (1) for an input/output device, in particular for an orientable and/or translatable door (52), a ramp and the like is provided in public transport vehicles. It contains a support and housing (2), electric motor (3), reduction unit (4) connected to electric motor (3), and a disconnector (9) connected to reduction unit (4). Also, the rotary actuator includes first shaft (10) with tubular wall (11) having an inner cavity and one or more through-holes (12), second shaft (13) inserted in the inner cavity of tubular wall (11) rotatably about an axis (R) and having one or more locking cavities (14) arranged to be applied to through-holes (12). Also, the rotary actuator includes one or more fixing members (15) that enter through openings (12) in tubular wall (11) and can move between a radially inner position, in engagement with through hole (12) and with locking cavity (14) preventing the rotation of first shaft (10) relative to second shaft (13) and a radially outer position, outside the locking cavities, allowing rotation of first shaft (10) relative to second shaft (13). Also, the rotary actuator includes control sleeve (16) inserted on tubular wall (11) with the possibility of axial movement between a locking position and a release position, in which control surface (17) of control sleeve (16) faces towards through holes (12) and is shaped so, that when control sleeve (16) is in the locking position, control surface (17) locks locking elements (15) in the radially inner position, and when control sleeve (16) is in release position, control surface (17) allows displacing locking elements (15) in the radially outer position. Also, the rotary actuator includes cam (22) displaceable from a rest position to an operative position, and at least one lever (18), rotatable about control point (19), which has first end (20) engaged with control sleeve (16), and second end (21) in contact with cam (22) so, that displacement of cam(22) from the rest position to the operating position, second end (21) of the lever moves in a direction transversal to the rotational axis (R), and first end (20) of the lever moves control sleeve (16) from the locking position along the first initial stroke length towards the release position.

EFFECT: rotary actuator for the input/output device is proposed.
