FIELD: motors and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a system of engine starting. Engine starting method, in which the stopped engine is started by the rotation of the engine; rotating a torque converter impeller, starting at zero speed, depending on the achievement of a first predetermined number of combustion cycles after the engine has been stopped by an engine torque; and at least partially include a torque converter release clutch from an off state. Variant of the engine starting method in which a stopped engine is started due to engine rotation is considered; a pump wheel of the torque converter is rotated, starting at zero speed, during engine starting; and at least partially disconnect the release clutch, depending on the rotational speed of the torque converter impeller. Vehicle system comprising the engine; the torque converter comprising the release clutch, an impeller and a turbine is proposed, torque converter is mechanically connected to the engine; a gear box drive shaft, mechanically connected to the torque converter; and a controller, containing executable instructions stored on a read-only memory, the executable instructions provide the engine rotation by means of the engine torque and adjusting the activation and deactivation of the release clutch to rotate the impeller by means of the engine torque during the acceleration of the engine from zero speed to a threshold speed.
EFFECT: invention provides the probability of the combustion miss in the engine, as well as optimization of the engine starting by improving the quality of the engine speed control during starting.
