FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the protection of metals from corrosion by chemical inhibitor chemicals and can be used to prevent corrosion of cast iron in environment containing sulfuric acid and chlorine, for example in chlorine compressors. Inhibitor includes diphenylamine, ferrous sulfate and sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate with the following component content, wt%: diphenylamine 50–98; ferrous sulfate 1–25; sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonates 1–25. Inhibitor reduces the rate of corrosion of cast iron SCH20 by 7–14 times.
EFFECT: protection level of cast iron in a dynamic mode, which simulates the working conditions of the chlorine compressor, with the use of an inhibitor reaches 93 %.
