FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ammunition, in particular to the construction of small arms cartridges and their functioning. Method of electric initiation of a shot of a small arms cartridge is designed for a perspective caseless cartridge, which is characterized by the fact that the shot occurs due to its incorporation into the DC electric circuit and the breakdown of the electric discharge inside the powder charge of the cartridge. In this method, an electrical impulse is supplied from the power accumulator through the switch to the combustible electrode of the cartridge at the time of its co-axial alignment with the barrel of small arms, while the second terminal of the opposite pole of the power accumulator is permanently connected to the body of small arms and the cartridge. Accumulator is replenished with electricity from a magnetic coil fixed to the barrel of small arms.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing the overall and weight characteristics of small arms by refusing from the bulky reciprocating mechanism of feeding the cartridge into the barrel of small arms and throwing out the cartridge case, and also in using the entire caseless cartridge to defeat the target.
