FIELD: technology of water and air purification.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of purification from carbon dioxide of various gas mixtures such as natural gas, hydrocarbon conversion gases, flue gases, etc. by absorption. Method for removing carbon dioxide from gas mixtures comprises absorbing carbon dioxide with an aqueous solution of an absorbent with a monoethanolamine (MEA) content of 10–14 % by weight at a saturation degree of the absorption solution not less than 0.65 MCO2/MIEA, desorption of carbon dioxide at a temperature of 70–90 °C to produce carbon dioxide and a carbon dioxide-depleted solution of the absorbent that is returned to the absorption step completely without further purification.

EFFECT: minimization of losses of MEA associated with high-temperature degradation, reduction of equipment corrosion, heat consumption and increase in the degree of removal of carbon dioxide.
