Digital content distribution method includes identifying a plurality of sources storing portions of a digital content item that includes a plurality of parts, plurality of sources includes one or more local storage machines of a computer and one or more peer computers of a peer-to-peer network, for each part of the plural parts of the digital content item, the part is downloaded from the source, the source is selected from a variety of sources according to one or more load metrics, and the organization of multiple parts for installation on a computer as an element of digital content.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the efficiency of the distribution of digital content in a peer-to-peer network.
