FIELD: technological processes; electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrolyzers for the production of aluminum. Electrolyzer includes an self-baking anode located in the anode casing, current-carrying pins and a gas-pump system, self-baking anode on the boundary between the coke oven composition and the semi-coke zone is divided by a horizontal partition placed at a height from the lower edge of the anode casing, equal to 0.7÷0.8 from its height, and equipped with vertical cells with the formation of anode blocks, kept from falling into the melt by conductive pins, the cells being made long, equal to 0.1÷0.2 of the length of the anode casing, and a width equal to 0.45÷0,495 of the width of the anode casing, and placed with a gap between them to ensure the movement of the resulting anode gases into the gas suction system.
EFFECT: reduction of metal losses in the electrolyte and an increase in the yield of metal by current are provided.
