SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus for extracting oil in ice water. Device comprises a lifting device supported by a transportation means, such as a ship, a separating cage that is capable of being lowered into water between ice blocks by means of said lifting device. Separating cage comprises a body configured to pass water and oil through it, but substantially with no passage of ice through it, and an oil collector for collecting oil on the water surface in the space bounded by the separating cage. Body of the separating cage is formed by a bucket-like surface consisting of parallel ribs that extend perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of said bucket and are spaced apart from each other.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of oil collection among blocks of ice.
