FIELD: astronautics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for measuring the range to a spacecraft (SC). To measure the range to the SC a signal is generated, a digital or an analog signal is modulated on its basis, transferred to the carrier frequency and transmitted from the ground control system of the SC, the signal is then received by the onboard equipment of the SC command-measuring system, demodulated, a signal is generated at the response frequency and retransmitted to the ground control system, the desired range value is obtained from the phase shift of the received signal relative to the original signal, or by recalculating the propagation delay time.
EFFECT: combined measurement of the range to the SC is provided when using both analog and digital signals.
