First file download limiting method in the cloud storage service, loaded on the cloud storage service by the first client device, connected to the first user over the communication network; wherein the first user is one of plurality of users connected to the cloud storage service; executed on the server containing the cloud-based storage service, and includes: estimating of the first file downloading activity from the cloud storage service over the communication network, at that, as the first file downloading activity parameter at least one of the following is used: number of the first file downloads, number of different users downloading the first file; application of the first corrective action to the first file downloading in accordance with exceeding the predetermined level activity parameter.
EFFECT: increase in the cloud storage servers operation stability.
