SUBSTANCE: invention relates to lighting engineering. In lighting system (5) with at least one light unit (2, 2i) containing light segment (2a), which is configured for installation at least one a lighting device or which has at least one lighting device, and at least one connecting element (2d-2h) which is at least capable of conducting electric current and at the end of light segment (2a) is mechanically and electrically connected thereto, with at least one connector (1, 3, 4), which has at least one element (1c-1e) arranged around middle axis (1a) of the connector, and at least mechanically connected to circumferential element (1c-1d) or formed by circumferentially disposed (1c-1e) electric wire (1b), connecting member (2d-2h) of light unit (2, 2i) is mechanically connected to circumferential connector element (1c-1e), and thereby, at least one light unit (2, 2i) is mechanically and electrically connected to connector (1, 3, 4). Light block (2, 2i) with connector (1, 3, 4) can be located at different positions around middle axis (1a) of the connector, and in each position light block (2, 2i) is mechanically and electrically connected to connector (1, 3, 4) and that several light blocks (2, 2i) are mechanically and electrically connected to common connector (1, 3, 4). In this case, the angles at which the light block is inserted into the connector are selected over several continuous corner areas in aggregate at least 330 degrees around the middle axis of the connector.
