FIELD: image processing means.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the reconstruction of a document from a series of document images. Method for reconstructing the document includes obtaining a plurality of image frames, where each frame of an image from a plurality of image frames comprises a portion of an original document image, identifying a plurality of image-specific visual features on a plurality of image frames, performing spatial alignment of a plurality of image frames based on coincidences of the detected visual features, dividing each of the plurality of image frames into a plurality of image fragments, identifying one or more image fragments with a picture of the text in a plurality of image fragments, associating each detected text-containing image fragment with an image frame, at which this image fragment has an optimum value of a predetermined quality index from the quality score values for this image fragment on a plurality of image frames, and creating a reconstructed image frame by combining the image fragments of said associated image frames.
EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of obtaining and processing images of documents.
