SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a position location of a target portable device, namely to a method for searching a user's lost electronic device. To this end, a location search request corresponding to the target portable device is received, in which the target portable device identifier is transferred, obtaining the location information of the target portable device, transmitted by another device, if said other device detects the radio signal of the target portable device, and transmitting a message indicating a location related to the target portable device, to a communication terminal tied to the target portable device. In this case, the location information is an identifier of the other device, and transmitting a message indicating a location related to the target portable device, includes obtaining an account identifier corresponding to the identifier of said other device, and sending an assistance request to a communication terminal that is currently registered through an account corresponding to the account identifier. If a confirmation message transmitted from the communication terminal, connected with the account corresponding to the account identifier, is received, a message, indicating a location related to the target portable device and containing an account identifier, is transmitted to a communication terminal tied to the target portable device.

EFFECT: technical problem to be solved consists in the expansion of the range of technical means for the specified purpose, and the technical result is to achieve this purpose.
