SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a multifunctional central upper stop light for a vehicle. Stop light unit includes a stop light housing, an outer lid cover, a latch, an actuator, a general lighting and a sensor. Stop light housing is installed in the recess located on the rear of the vehicle. Latch is configured to selectively connect the stop light housing to the recess such that when the latch is actuated, the stop light body moves between the first closed position and the second position. Second position is a stop light housing protruding from the recess. Actuator is connected to the latch. General lighting lamp is inoperative when the stop light housing is in the first closed position and the general lighting lamp is in operation when the stop light housing is in the second position. Sensor is configured to determine the position of the stop light housing.

EFFECT: increase in the illumination level around the vehicle is achieved.
