FIELD: electrolytic methods.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrochemical reactor and chemical reaction and the sodium hydroxide fuel cycle implementation methods using such reactor. Electrochemical reactor includes positive electrode with the first main surface and second main surface on the side opposite the first main surface, and negative electrode with the first main surface and second surface on the side opposite the first main surface. Positive electrode and negative electrode face each other with their first main surfaces and located spaced apart, forming a space between them. This space is filled with the electrically conductive liquid and / or a dielectric fluid. First insulating element is provided on the positive electrode first surface in order to isolate the positive electrode from the liquid and the second insulating element is provided on the negative electrode first surface in order to isolate the negative electrode from the liquid. First insulating element includes first liquid repelling porous membrane having plurality of pores, and the second insulating member includes the second liquid repelling porous membrane having plurality of pores. Reactor further includes pressure applying member, which compresses the liquid to fill the first and second liquid repelling porous membranes pores with liquid, thereby causing the electrochemical reaction involving the positive electrode and the negative electrode.
EFFECT: invention provides the highly efficient electrochemical reactor.
