FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in oil refining and fuel industries and relates to formation of a carbonaceous material-crude petroleum coke. Heating of fine fractions of petroleum coke to temperatures of 350–400 °C are conducted with limited access of oxygen to the air in a gas stream with a temperature of 500–550 °C, containing no more than 2–6 % oxygen. Gas is a mixture of gases leaving the afterburner and the coke dust after the rotary calcination furnace and gases exiting the recovery boiler. Volume ratio of said gas streams in the mixture is in the range of 0.69 to 0.92.
EFFECT: simplification of technological process is achieved due to formation of crude petroleum coke without binding additives in the entire range of atomic C:H ratios, characteristic of crude petroleum coke.
