SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, in particular to composition of steels used for manufacture, mainly, of large-size castings for machine-building and machine-tool industry. Iron-based alloy contains, wt. %: manganese 0.1–0.3; chromium 0.3–0.4; nickel 1.0–1.5; molybdenum 0.3–0.4; vanadium 1.0–1.5; zirconium 0.03–0.05; rhenium 0.3–0.4; erbium 0.35–0.45; rest is iron.
EFFECT: alloy is characterized by high impact strength.
