SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary medicine and is intended for selection of dairy cattle by resistance to mastitis. All herds of cows are tested monthly for the level of somatic cells in milk in individual samples, each cow is given an average number of cells per lactation, which is transformed into points. Cows and bulls (according to the daughters) are selected according to the average point for lactation. Based on the developed scale, they are distributed according to the degree of resistance to mastitis and choose the ways of use.

EFFECT: method provides for increasing objectivity and accuracy of selection of cows and bulls for resistance to mastitis.
