FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to dentistry and maxillofacial surgery. Incision is made in the submaxillary region, the maxillo-hyoid nerve is distinguished. Gentle way immobilize the portion of the maxillofacial nerve from the angle of the lower jaw to the place of its division into branches. Intraoperative electromyography is performed, during which the outgoing electrode is applied to the locomotor of the maxillofacial muscle, and stimulating electrode is moved distally along the exposed maxillofacial nerve with a 3 mm travel step. Intersection of the maxillofacial nerve is carried out at a distance of 3 mm proximal to the recording point for decreasing the amplitude of the consecutive M-response to the previous one by 10 % or more. Then the maxillo-hyoid nerve is sewn to the facial nerve end-to-end.
EFFECT: method allows to reduce postoperative complications, which is achieved due to intraoperative determination of the optimal location of the jaw-hyoid nerve.
