FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, namely to means for fragmenting organo-mineral formations. Medical device comprises a combined probe including a laser waveguide probe and a nanosecond electro-pulse lithotripter probe, light energy source, connected to the laser waveguide probe and specified so as to generate a laser radiation field with an energy sufficient to damage the surface of the organo-mineral formation when the laser waveguide probe is applied to the organo-mineral formation, electric energy source connected to the nanosecond electro-pulse lithotripter probe and specified so as to generate high voltage nanosecond electrical pulses with an energy sufficient to destroy the organo-mineral formation when nanosecond electro-pulse lithotripter probe is applied to the organo-mineral formation, monitoring and control system for monitoring operating parameters and controlling the device operation by switching the device from an activation mode of the laser waveguide probe. Method is carried out by the device and comprises creating a laser radiation field with an energy sufficient to damage the surface of the organo-mineral formation, generating high-voltage nanosecond electrical pulses with an energy sufficient to fragment the organo-mineral formation by passing a short electric pulse through it, applying the laser waveguide probe to the surface of the concretion, and treating the surface with laser radiation to create a defect, applying the nanosecond electro-pulse lithotripter probe to the treated area to provide a spark electrical discharge through the concretion.
EFFECT: use of inventions provides accelerated and improved efficiency of fragmentation.
