FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: cutting insert has a top and bottom surfaces in the form of a diamond and a side surface located between them, a central hole having a conical portion adjacent to the upper surface, supporting projections located on the lower surface below the tops of the diamond and bounded by a lateral surface and a conical surface with an axis perpendicular to the lower surface and passing through the center of radius at the vertex of the acute angle, in this case, with respect to the lower surface, the vertex of the cone is located on the opposite side from the upper surface. Supporting projections at obtuse angles of the diamond are V-shaped, with an additional conical section adjacent to the lower surface in the central hole. When fixing the cutting insert on the holder of the cutter, it is installed by the support protrusion under the working top on the supporting wall. Fixing screw 15 is screwed into the threaded hole. In this case, its conical head interacts with conical portion 5 of the cutting insert and urges it against the side support wall of the socket. At that the non-working tip of the cutting insert forces into the groove formed by the elastic protrusions of support 16, and the support protrusions are pressed against the portions of the lower support wall.

EFFECT: expansion of technological capabilities is achieved through the use of both cutting edges of the cutting insert forming its working acute angle.
