FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: cutter contains a holder and a cutting insert. The cutter is provided with a support plate mounted on the lower support wall of the holder seat and having an upper support surface for interacting with the lower support surface of the cutting insert, a lower support surface for interacting with the lower support wall of the holder seat, a symmetry axis intersecting the said upper and lower support surfaces and two angular protrusions arranged symmetrically with respect to the said axis of symmetry and intended to be placed on an interference fit in two corner grooves formed in the yoke and a lower support wall intersecting it, wherein an elastic slot is formed between the slots in the holder. The upper and the lower support surfaces of the support plate in cross section are formed by V-shaped reciprocal, respectively, of the lower support surface of the cutting insert and the lower support wall of the holder seat. The lateral surfaces of the angled protrusions of the support plate facing away from its axis of symmetry are parallel to it and to each other.

EFFECT: increasing the strength of the holder under the working cutting edge.
