FIELD: turning; drilling.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the processing of materials by cutting and can be used for drilling deep holes. Drill comprises a basic body, a cutting insert having cutting edge that is formed between the chip surface and the back surface. Chip removal surface comprises a bevelled surface adjacent to the cutting edge of the cutting insert and the clearance surface. Chamfer surface has a width of at least 0.1 mm and in each infinitesimally small portion along the cutting edge forms an angle of at least 25° and not more than 50° with the reference plane extending perpendicular to the centre or axis of rotation of the drill.
EFFECT: efficient chip breaking and removal thereof from the drilled deep hole.
