FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radiophysics and plasma physics and can be used to create a new type of ionosonde designed to study the inhomogeneities of the ionospheric plasma and its scintillations. Proposed invention provides an opportunity for operational monitoring of the ionosphere in the area above the ionosonde, including the construction of spatio-temporal distributions of the parameters of the ionospheric plasma of the Earth.
EFFECT: result is achieved due to the fact that during the sounding of the ionosphere by the method of vertical radiosounding, radio waves having different angular momentum angular momenta are used, and interferograms are recorded that compare the waves reflected from the ionosphere to the initial ones.
