FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a propylene and ethylene copolymer, a process for preparation thereof and an article for packaging made of said copolymer. Propylene and ethylene copolymer comprises ethylene in the range of 0.1 to 5 wt%. Propylene and ethylene copolymer is characterized by a molecular weight distribution Mw/Mn exceeding 3, melt flow rate (MFR 230 ° C 2.16 kg), referred to the copolymers of a reactor grade from 0.2 to 45 g/10' and lack of 2,1 propylene inserts. According to the invention, the propylene and ethylene copolymer have a lower melting point than propylene homopolymers, as well as a higher transparency. These properties make these copolymers particularly useful in the preparation of films or articles that require less turbidity, impact resistance and low melting temperatures (S.I.T.).
EFFECT: random propylene-ethylene copolymers and a process for their preparation are proposed.
