FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to the field of biotechnology and a live attenuated recombinant Koi herpesvirus (KHV), an expression vector comprising the genome of such a virus, an isolated cell, a vaccine, a method for preventing fish disease caused by KHV, and an immunogenic composition. Present live attenuated recombinant Koi herpesvirus includes a genome in which the open reading frame 56 (ORF 56) and the open reading frame 57 (ORF 57) are deleted, for use in a vaccine for the prevention of a disease caused by Koi herpesvirus (KHV) in fish.
EFFECT: inventions make it possible to obtain safe and effective attenuated vaccines for controlling KHV infection.
