SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of shipbuilding, in particular to submarine vessels capable of destroying the continuous ice cover upon their ascent. Proposed is a method for the destruction of ice cover by a submarine by attaching to the ice using an anchor and a cable, followed by the filling of ballast tanks with seawater, while on the ice, at the place of attachment of the vessel, a dome is tightly mounted, under which periodically, at a frequency equal to the frequency of the resonant flexural-gravitational waves excited in the ice cover by dynamic loads, air is supplied under pressure measured in millimeters of water column greater than the sum of the thicknesses of the ice and snow cover in the place of installation of the dome.

EFFECT: technical result is to increase the thickness of the ice cover to be destroyed.
