FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for stopping a working three-phase bubble column reactor of a suspension type. Method for stopping a column including downwardly directed gas distribution nozzles immersed in a major portion of a slurry of solid particulate material suspended in a slurry fluid contained within a reactor vessel in fluid communication with a gas supply line through which gas is supplied to the gas distribution nozzles, by means of which the gas is injected down into the main part of the slurry, and having exhaust ports that are at the same height, provides for a sudden stop of the gas flow from the gas supply line to the gas distribution nozzles by activating the high-speed valve on the gas supply line to shut off the gas supply line to the gas distribution nozzles, so as to keep the gas in the gas distribution nozzles to prevent the suspension from entering the gas distributing nozzles, while the high-speed valve is characterized by a response time of 1 to 5 seconds from the moment of activation until the valve is completely closed.

EFFECT: invention provides an effective stopping of the reactor tower in which the suspension is prevented from entering the gas distributor and the flow of gas in the nozzles is not required.
