SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat engineering, more specifically to superconducting energy storage devices, and can be used to launch vortex thermonuclear reactors. Feature of the proposed superconducting energy storage device is that the body and the superconducting electrode are made in the form of a toroidal spiral, the inner surface of the body and the superconducting electrode are covered with a capillary structure, the body is partially filled with a volatile liquid with a boiling point below the phase transition point of the superconducting electrode material, and a capillary structure located on the inner surface of the body, and the capillary structure on the superconducting electrode are connected to each other by capillary bridges. To other features it is possible to carry that, that the hermetic body is provided with a valve and the external cooling system is made in the form of a leaky Dewar vessel with an inner surface, covered with a capillary structure.
EFFECT: invention can be used to launch vortex thermonuclear reactors.
