FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for spot welding of high-strength steel sheets using an inverter DC power supply. Variable control of the current supply time, intervals between current pulses and welding current is carried out. Two or more stages of a pulsed current supply are carried out. Relationship between the time of the current supply, the time of no current supply and the welding current is represented as a set of successive current pulses. First step of the pulsed current supply is the initial step of supplying the current pulses, the minimum welding current in the second step of the pulsed current supply being higher than the maximum welding current in said first stage of the pulsed current supply.
EFFECT: method provides a core size corresponding to the thickness of the sheet when suppressing the occurrence of internal and external spattering.
